Do you find yourself looking at other people and thinking I bet their life is better than mine? Do you see people in a group or with a partner and think I’d like to have their life, they look like they’re having so much fun?
How about you choose to be happy now with your Own life just as it is?! Wouldn’t that be a great feeling, just to be content with how things actually are?
In my video above (just click on the I Choose To Be Happy quote) I talk about how you don’t need to be looking at other people and feel envious of them. You are unique and can make your own life just how you want it to be, and you choose to be happy. You don’t realise how other people could be looking at you and feeling envious of how great they think your life is!
So literally Stop and think about your life and all the positive things in it. Change your focus from others to yourself. Are you a nice person? Helpful, kind, ambitious, excitable, relaxed, motivated, trustworthy and so on? Look at all your attributes which make you You. Then think of all the physical things you have in your life such as family, children, partner, friends, job, money etc.
Even if you don’t have as much money as you’d like, or are not in a romantic relationship right now, or have children but they’re causing you pain for example, then you can Still be happy and look at the positive side of each situation.
You may be in debt or not have much money, but do you have a roof over your head? Are you warm, dry and clean and still able to buy food to eat?
You may not have a partner right now, so why don’t you revel in the fact that you don’t have to compromise with anyone and can do what you want when you want?!
Your children may be causing you problems, but why don’t you think how lucky you are to be able to have children (a position so many people would do anything to be in) and think of ways to help them rather than battle against them?
These are just a few examples, but it shows you can turn any situation around.
As I’ve mentioned in other posts, the happier you feel now, the more likely you are to get to where you want to be in the future. If you have goals and a desired life you want to obtain, then you need to be grateful for how your life is now. Sounds a bit like the chicken and the egg, which one comes first?! Even if you don’t feel that great about how life is currently, it’s not going to get any better if you feel negative. It can only get better if you already feel good!
I hope this post has been of some help and inspiration to you! I’m learning all of this myself and love it because it’s made me a happier and more grateful person.
