It’s the start of a new week so time to let go of the weekend (what a beautifully sunny one it was!!). Take a deep breath and think positive thoughts to make it a good week ahead! So lets start thinking – how do I change my mindset?
How Do I Change My Mindset Today?
If only everyone in the world knew and lived by this quote above, then we’d be a bunch of much happier people!
How many times do you complain in a day?! It doesn’t have to be a major whine! It could be just a little moan about your hair looking fuzzy or not finding anything to wear!
How Many Times Do You Complain In A Day?
When you you really think about it then I bet most people do complain at least a few times a day, agree?!
The quote basically boils down to the fact that life and what happens in it is all within your way of thinking. I know everyone is dealt a certain hand, such as being born into poverty or wealth, a secure family unit or a broken one and so on. However it’s what we do with our situations that matter. Some may have to work harder than others. But at the end of the day, it’s your mindset that determines your life, not your situation. Keep that thought: Change My Mindset.
Many people who are unhappy in their situations blame outside sources for their problems. This could be lack of money, a bad relationship, bad upbringing for example. If their life is a constant flow of unhappiness then it’s because they’re constantly blaming others and subconsciously making themselves miserable.
Misery leads to misery and happiness leads to happiness. There’s that mindset word again! I’ve got another quote here: “Think Happy” – Short, sweet, simple!
To read how someone with a very tough beginning in life can turn into such an inspirational, helpful and giving person, just take a look at this book by Richard McCann. If you think your life is hard, read about his! On a few occasions it did actually bring me to tears!! He’s a great ambassador for the phrase change my mindset.
How Do I Do It?
You may be asking so how do I just become happy and stop complaining?! Well at first it’ll take a bit of adjusting because it’ll feel alien to you, but it literally is stopping and thinking. Watch what you say to yourself and others. If you’re about to make a negative comment no matter how small, stop and think of something else, better to say or reword what you need to get across. The more you do this the more natural it will become.
I’m proof of this because now when I go to have a little moan, I stop and think I really shouldn’t say that and then I get back into positive mode.
The more you think about the positive parts of your situation, the happier you’ll begin to feel. Bit by bit your situation will actually get better. You see how this ‘change my mindset‘ thing works now?!
Before I go, I’ll set you a task! Here’s what you need to do:
- Go a whole day without complaining (even small things!) or speaking negatively!
- Just comment on this post with how you get on!
If you realise after you’ve complained then backtrack and say it differently in a positive way! Just remember you don’t need to change your situation, just ask yourself ‘how do I change my mindset?’
Look forward to hearing how you get on!
Bye for now, Lisa x
